WellCare takes its responsibilities to the Centers for
Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) and Medicare beneficiaries very
seriously.
Accordingly, compliance with CMS's Medicare Marketing
Guidelines and the respectful and ethical treatment of Medicare
beneficiaries are of paramount importance to WellCare.
Therefore,
you should know that WellCare has adopted a zero tolerance
policy for Medicare Marketing Guideline violations and inappropriate
marketing practices.
In the link below, you will find a list of
actions that WellCare considers cause for termination of its agreements
with marketing representatives.
This list of actions is not
exhaustive and other acts or omissions by marketing representatives may be
cause for termination of a marketing agreement with WellCare.
Please note that the failure of your subcontractors (e.g., agents,
telemarketers, etc.) to comply with the Medicare Marketing Guidelines and
appropriate sales practices may also be cause for termination of your
agreement with WellCare.
We encourage you to review your contract
with WellCare and related training materials to ensure your current
marketing practices are appropriate and compliant.
In closing, we
wish to thank you for your ongoing compliance efforts and for helping
contribute to the continued success of WellCare's Medicare
products.
Respectfully,
KAL
