Important Information About Coventry CCP Products for 2010

In light of changes in federal reimbursement rates, Coventry Health Care has informed Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) that we will not be renewing our contracts to offer to individuals Advantra® Medicare Advantage Part D (prescription drug) Coordinated Care Plans (CCPs) in Arizona, New Mexico, Virginia and West Virginia. We have also informed CMS of our intention not to renew dual-eligible or chronic Special Needs Plans (SNPs) in our HealthAmerica (Central and Western Pennsylvania), Iowa, Kansas City (Kansas and Missouri) and GHP (Missouri and Illinois) health plans. These plans will continue to offer non-SNP Advantra options throughout their service areas, including proposed expansion counties for 2010. We will continue to offer dual-eligible SNPs through our Vista/Summit plans in Florida.

Coventry remains fully committed to our Coordinated Care network product in all other existing markets and to our national Part D program (AdvantraRx), both of which deliver exceptional value to our members. Coventry will continue to provide coverage and service to our CCP members in the impacted service areas for the remainder of 2009 policy period. Existing members do not need to take action now. They will continue to have full access to their plan benefits through December 31, 2009.

In order to be eligible for commissions, signed applications for these CCP plans (AZ, NM, WV, VA, SNPs [except in FL]) must be received by Coventry on or before 11:59 p.m. ET, July 2, 2009.

For CCP applications for these plans received by Coventry through July 2, 2009, we will pay advance commissions for the period through December 31, 2009, with standard reconciliations for cancellations, rapid disenrollment and early terminations. All CCP applications for these plans previously processed with a 12 month advance that extends beyond 12/31/09 will be adjusted after the June renewal commissions have been processed.

Renewal commissions will continue to be paid through December 31, 2009. All CCP commissions in the impacted service areas will cease effective January 1, 2010.

Coventry is dedicated to our partnership and shared success with you. We remain focused on serving Medicare beneficiaries through competitive products and outstanding service. If you have questions, please contact your up-line or local Coventry health plan.
