Merry Christmas, From Our Family to Yours

Merry Christmas from Empower Brokerage! Did you know that the first instance of December 25 being celebrated as the date of Jesus’ birth was in the year 221 by Sextus Julius Africanus, the regional ambassador to Rome and the first Christian historian, who produced a massive 5-volume universal chronology of the world and genealogy of Christ. In the Christian faith, there are two likely reasons for the date being December 25th. First, the 25th is 9 months from the spring equinox in March, which is accepted as the date of Jesus’ conception. And secondly, December 25 was already a popular observed holiday in Rome as the dies solis invicti nati (day of the birth of the unconquered sun), metaphorically the birth of the unconquered Son, Jesus.

As 2020 draws to a close, we can’t help but feel thankful for our many blessings despite this challenging year. We are so fortunate to have such dedicated employees, and would like to take a moment to express our gratitude in wishing you a joyous holiday season!
