Three Things Agents Should Know Heading Into AEP

The busiest period of the year is less than 60 days away with the Annual Enrollment Period (AEP) opening Oct. 15! Thanks to COVID-19, we are all getting accustomed to virtual resources available for agents. Here are three things that agents should know heading into AEP / OEP period.

Screen Sharing

When you are talking with your clients about their insurance policies, screen sharing is the easiest way to add a visual aid to what you’re discussing over the phone. Rather than listening to your presentation without a guide, clients can follow along as you review benefits, coverage details, and side-by-side plan comparisons. Every agent should know how to do this in a timely and efficient manner. Here are some of the preferred screen sharing tools for agents to virtually meet with clients. As seniors get more acquainted with the increasingly virtual world we are in, these tools will be effective in allowing agents to write and submit more business.

  • Microsoft Teams
  • GoToMeeting
  • Zoom
  • Skype

Enrollment on Health Sherpa

Health Sherpa is the quickest and easiest way to enroll clients in Affordable Care Act (ACA) plans. Health Sherpa, is tied to healthcare.gov and uses a simple, clean interface that allows for the enrollment process to be streamlined. Health Sherpa as a less complex alternative to healthcare.gov where you can monitor and update existing plans, as well as create new ones.

Using e-Apps

e-Apps are a huge part of our business, especially since the COVID-19 pandemic made in-person meetings difficult. Aetna is hosting six training webinars on Ascend and RATE throughout the next week. As an agent, you can add and view leads, get quick quotes, and much more in Ascend. Going forward, virtual meetings will be a key component of writing and submitting business.

Here are some additional training resources for agents to look at.
