
Vaughn’s Insurance Journey
Throughout his life, Vaughn Crawford has focused on helping people. For 42 years and counting, he has served his community as Pastor of New Community Life Church in Dry Branch, Georgia. Also, for the past 35 years, Mr. Crawford has helped people find the right coverage for their insurance needs. “It is just a personal gratitude to be able to help someone else,” says Vaughn. When he began his insurance career, Vaughn focused on life insurance solutions for his clients and was very successful in his sales efforts.
A 2011 seminar in Macon, Georgia, introduced Vaughn to Empower Brokerage, where he learned about the resources and tools the organization offers. Upon partnering with Empower, Vaughn found that adding Medicare products to his solutions offered another opportunity to assist people in his community. He explains that many of his clients struggle with destitute circumstances. So, when he gets them the assistance they need, it can vastly improve their situations. The Macon, Georgia, native says that years ago, when Medicare Advantage plans first arrived on the insurance product scene, many people thought the product would cause them to lose Medicare. As he explains to customers, that tale was incorrect. Medicare Advantage offers extra benefits. “We got a chance to start getting people what they need,” said Mr. Crawford. “That was a blessing to everybody.” Since Vaughn first partnered with Empower Brokerage, Medicare products have become central to his business.
Vaughn also shares that often, people don’t realize Medicaid is an option for them, and he has helped numerous individuals by bringing that service to their attention. His diligence has brought him rewards, as he has been invited to the Empower Brokerage reward trip many times. Mr. Crawford is also pleased that his business is debt-free and continues to triumph today. “I give God all the credit, all the praise, all the glory,” exclaims Vaughn. When asked what advice he would give new agents, Vaughn says that they must understand that it might be a struggle early on, but if they give it enough time, their business will yield profitable results.

Family Legacy
Along with his prosperous career, Vaughn is blessed to have a thriving, happy family. He has been married to his wife, Shirley, for 31 years. His two children also work in ministry. Additionally, his son works as an insurance agent. Vaughn and his wife also have seven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. One of Vaughn’s granddaughters is now an agent and works at his agency, SAC Marketing II, LLC. Mr. Crawford is teaching her about the business and wants her to learn how everything works so one day she will be able to run the agency herself. Vaughn’s niece, Shania Chambliss, Empower Brokerage’s Regional Sales Director for Georgia, also got her start at Vaughn’s agency. He is proud of her and says she is a hard worker and a go-getter. Also, family played a role in Vaughn becoming an insurance problem-solver. It was Vaughn’s brother, Ricardo Daniels, who invited him to a meeting that led to Vaughn entering the insurance business. Attending that meeting paid off with all the success Vaughn and his family have experienced.
In his spare time, Vaughn enjoys fishing. He fishes in a lake in his backyard but also enjoys fishing in other lakes. Among his top catches, he recalls reeling in a 25-pound red fish off a pier while visiting Galveston, Texas.
