Austin Meetings Empower Consumers

Last weekend Empower Brokerage hosted their final Austin Meeting to help local consumers make smart choices regarding Medicare. The attendees were patients of three large physician groups. Austin Regional Clinic, Capital Medical Clinic, and Premier Physicians refereed hundreds of their patients to Empower’s Austin meetings.

The goal of these meetings was to help inform and teach the basics of Medicare, as well as to teach the best practices when choosing a Medicare plan.

Where did these meetings take place?

Tuesday, October 29 – 4:00 to 7:00 pm at the Norris Center. 300 people attended.
Wednesday, October 30 – 6:00 to 8:00 pm at the Premier Physicians Center. 150 people attended.
Saturday, November 2 – 10:00 am – 2:00 pm at the Wyndham Conference Center. 150 people attended.
Saturday, November 9 – 10:00 am – 2:00 pm at the Allen R Baca Senior Center. 250 people attended.

Overall there were over 800 people in attendance throughout these four meetings. Each meeting was approximately one hour in length. Empower’s goal was to educate the attendees on the basics of Medicare and any changes they could expect in 2020.

What Was The Overall Reaction?

“The response from the attendees was totally positive…Large numbers of people wanted to take advantage of the FREE Medicare Review and Plan Comparisons,” responds John Shinn, a senior product specialist at Empower Brokerage.

These meetings were extremely informative and appeared to be very helpful to the attendees. Certified insurance agents were in attendance and conducted Medicare reviews on the spot. These Medicare reviews helped attendees understand their current coverage and how it works. In addition to the reviews many consumers were interested in comparing their plans with other plans on the market. The attendees seemed excited to have an insurance agent speak to them about their current plan without pushing them to change plans or trying to up-sale them on plans they don’t need.
