The HBH Walmart Program is Now in Full Swing

Empower Brokerage and Walmart again join forces to offer Medicare help to consumers during the Annual Election Period.  The Walmart Kiosk Program places agents in high traffic areas of their stores so they can be highly visible during this important time of year. Empower Brokerage has thousands of agents under contract, who can help fill these stores nationally. Each year, Empower Brokerage increases its presence in the stores and treats this as a major opportunity.

This is the perfect time for agents to answer questions and educate customers on upcoming Medicare Programs, which include Medicare Advantage, Medicare Supplements, and other supplemental programs.  Not only does the kiosk allow agents to set up appointments but also to cross-sell and obtain referrals.  Writing applications and enrollments come easy in this type of setting, but most importantly it helps us answer important questions the public has about their health insurance options.

Enrolling in the program is simple, but time sensitive.  The fee for this program, $500,  is modest considering the length of the program and the amount of exposure the agent gets in return.

One of the agents who has been very successful with this program, Carl Bloomquist, is one of the top sales agents for Empower Brokerage last year.  Carl worked the Walmart in Fort Worth, Texas last year and is relocating to the Grandbury, TX location this year.  This is only his second year working the Walmart Kiosk program but he has good things to say about it.

Selling Medicare products has been easy for Carl since helping seniors is personally rewarding for him. He says the Walmart Kiosk program leads to future cross-selling of other products.

Carl claims he sold over 230 policies last year and is set to increase that number this year.  He likes the Walmart kiosk program and feels that it’s almost perfect for those selling Medicare-related products.  He has been an insurance agent for over 42 years and spends over four hours daily at the kiosk during the Annual Election Period. He says his busiest times are afternoons.  Carl says, “A lot of customers come back for answers to questions and usually sign up after my explanations, directions and suggestions”. As far as sales suggestions, Carl has just two, “be spot on and get them to laugh” and “Look at all the people and talk to everybody you see.” These are his keys to success.
