Get Certified with AHIP

American’s Health Insurance Plans (AHIP), is a national association whose members provide coverage for health care and related services. Through these offerings, AHIP improves and protects the health and financial security of consumers, families, businesses, and communities across the country.

Tens of thousands of industry professionals rely on AHIP to provide first class advocacy, education, and information to the changing health care system. AHIP covers various topics such as delivery and payment reform, high-cost drugs, Medicare Advantage, Medicare, and provider networks.

Carriers

Most carriers require an AHIP certification for Medicare Advantage and Perscription Drug Plans. If you are contracted with multiple carriers it is worth the time and money it takes to get certified.

AHIP Exam

The AHIP certification exam covers a lot. We recommend that you study prior to taking the exam, so you are well versed on the material. You have 3 chances to take the test, and you must take it every year, because factors like compliance, commissions, and deductibles change year to year. Empower’s Compliance Officer, Sherri Miller suggests that AHIP should be the first thing you do, if nothing else, to get it out of the way.
